About the event

Our Dojo Picnic is a chance to step off the tatami, put the keikogi back in the closet, and enjoy one another’s company in a setting where ukemi is optional and laughter is strongly encouraged. From 12:00 noon to 5:30 PM on Sunday, July 12, we’ll gather to eat well, talk freely, and remember that community is one of the most important practices we share.

Expect good food, relaxed conversation, children running in mysterious patterns, and stories that begin with “Remember that time on the mat when…” Training hierarchies are suspended for the afternoon—everyone is just a person with a plate and a smile.

Bring something to share if you’d like, or simply bring yourself. Friends, family, partners, and curious companions are all welcome. No uniforms, no bowing, no agenda beyond enjoying the day.

Come for an hour or stay the whole afternoon. Eat, rest, laugh, repeat. This is keiko…
