Aikido, a sophisticated art, and a simple way of connecting with motion and energy, awaits you at Mushinkan Kokyo. As a new student, step into the dojo with an open mind and willingness to train. Your journey may begin with focusing on hip movements, later transitioning to footwork and exploring the interplay of sword and body arts. Patience is key, as understanding how the pieces of training fit together will unfold when the time is right.

The foundation of learning lies in humbly admitting, "I don't know." This willingness to embrace continuous growth applies whether you are a novice or a seasoned practitioner. An open cup, free from preconceptions, allows for new knowledge and insights to pour in. Etiquette plays a pivotal role, nurturing safety, trust, respect, and openness, creating an environment conducive to your personal and spiritual development.

In our dojo, learning goes beyond the sensei's guidance; knowledge often emerges from unexpected sources, even fellow beginners. Embrace the natural process of learning, starting with mastering individual parts of techniques and gradually assembling them into cohesive movements. Avoid the urge to rush, as true progress blossoms through gradual integration and attention to the overall motion.

Self-judgment can hinder growth. Instead, embrace honest evaluation without attachment to ego. Learning from successes and struggles alike fuels your progress. Continuity and dedication are key; growth in Aikido knows no bounds, except when judgment halts your development.

In the dojo, your sensitivity, awareness, stamina, and centeredness are honed. Embrace each moment fully, investing your heart and soul into training. In Aikido, there are no good or bad students—only those alive in discovery and those yet to awaken. Keep training with unwavering dedication, and let the transformative journey unfold before you.
