Shugyosei

Goal: To provide committed students with intensive and structured training, setting them on the path to becoming an instructor and gaining a comprehensive understanding of dojo operations.

Mushinkan Kokyo is excited to announce the opening of applications for the Shugyosei Professional Instructor Training Program. This program mandates a minimum commitment of one year, including a three-month initial probation period. The maximum training period extends up to three years. Participants will engage in a demanding daily schedule encompassing Aikido, Internal Cultivation, Iaido, and various other activities. Moreover, participants will receive training in all facets of dojo and organizational responsibilities, from daily tasks to management and seminar operations. The Shugyosei Program requires a commitment to endure rigorous training involving high physical and emotional pressure. Some travel may be required for special events. Applications from sincere individuals of 5th kyu or above, regardless of gender, will be considered. Requirements:

• Students must hold a rank of 5th kyu or above.
• Attendance at a minimum of three classes per week is mandatory.
• Attendance at one weekly Iaido class (Mugai-ryu) is required.
• Students must arrive no later than 30 minutes prior to each class, performing assigned duties before scheduled training.
• Each student will have specific training goals (to be completed before/after class and during breaks).
• Only dire emergencies will excuse a student from class commitment.
• Disciplinary actions for tardiness or unexcused absences from assigned classes will be decided by committee.
• Minimum commitment of one year, with a three-month initial probation period.
